The 1 minute presentation!
60 seconds to qualify, present & close?

Can all of that — qualifying the prospect, presenting and closing — be done with 1 minute presentation, really? Yes!
Think about it for just a moment.
Huge advertising campaigns, like Super Bowl commercials, are able get their message across to an audience in 60 seconds and with greater impact than 20-minute presentations or 6 minute videos . . so why can’t we?
Yes, those that write commercials are using a special language with proven word phrases to communicate complex concepts in seconds but;
If they can do it, we can too!
Now, we ordinary people don’t have COMMERCIAL TALK or even know what that means. Yet we are mesmerized by the commercial.
We do have a special SOCIAL TALK. Unfortunately, it cannot compete with commercial talk.
For us who are in network marketing, our “social talk” about our business, services, or products centers around presenting information and facts to our prospects. It is in constant competition with “commercial talk” which bombards our prospects daily and holds their attention span longer.
With so much information being spoon-fed by commercials to our prospects hour-upon-hour, they have information overload.
When we come along and explain our stuff to them, the information is too much for 8 out of 10 prospects. They shut down and their eyes glaze over and don’t hear our message.
Here is the kicker-question to ask ourselves: “What are the words that we are saying and cause 8 out of 10 people to reject us?”
What if we learned an invitation, a 60 second presentation, and a close that got 5 out of 10 people to say YES? Wouldn’t that be better than 2 out of 10 who say “yes.”
I am not going to show you how to get 5 out of 10 people to say YES. I know that I’ve just let some of you down with that statement.
How to Get an Appointment?
Let me show you how to get an appointment with 10 out of every 10 people we talk to who will listen to our presentation and allow us to close them.
Here is what will get the prospect with saying YES every time:
“I can give you a complete presentation but it would take an entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”
Now that is what we say for getting an appointment. I can guarantee that you will be granted permission by the prospect to give a 60 second presentation.
Can we give an entire presentation about our business, services and products in the promised one-minute time limit? What information should we use for presenting our presentation in one-minute?
Yes, we can give a 60 second presentation by answering the three major questions that all prospects ask:
- What kind of business are you in?
- How much money can I make?
- Exactly what do I have to do to earn this money?
Answer those three questions in one minute without being VAGUE and you will have given a presentation as promised by you to the prospect.
What Kind of Business Are You In?
Avoid being vague by adding the phrase WHICH MEANS followed by a specific benefit about your opportunity or products.
A 60 second business pitch examples for describing what kind of business that people are in:
“I am in the health and wellness business, WHICH MEANS that I have delicious healthy teas, sodas, energy drinks and coffees that people drink. It helps them to fall asleep at night within seconds after their head hits the pillow and wake up feeling like a million dollars.”
Other examples:
“I am in the skincare business, WHICH MEANS that I have a tea which will rejuvenate your skin to look 20 years younger in only 45 seconds a day.”
“I am in the holiday travel business, WHICH MEANS I show families how to take five-star holidays for the price of a good hotel room.”
“I’m in the cosmetic business, WHICH MEANS I help people get the coordinated look they want and can’t get by buying random cosmetics.”
“I am in the financial services industry, WHICH MEANS that we help families lower their mortgage, credit card, and car payments. Now, they will have more money for fun things and retirement.”
For those who are in MyLeadSystemPro (MLSP), a 60 second pitch example describing the business:
“I’m in attraction marketing business, WHICH MEANS I show people how to get leads and recruit prospects for their primary business and earn some extra income while doing it.”
You want your description to sound normal. If it is too short, the prospect will ask you to clarify which leads to a greater risk of rejection. If it is too long, it sounds like a sales pitch that will make the prospect to resist.
How Much Money Can I Make?
A 60 second presentation for how much money can a person make is easy. Pick a figure that we feel matches the prospect’s desires.
For a person looking to earn a few hundred dollars a month part-time, we will describe one income. For those who want to build a fortune and fire their boss, we will quote a different income.
If you don’t know how much income the prospect is looking for ask! During your conversation, ask the prospect this question:
“If you were to have an extra income with our business, how much extra income would you be looking to earn?”
Once you find out, add this statement to the 60 second pitch example business description
Exactly What Do I Have to Do to Earn this Money?
This is the most important question for you to answer. A 60 second presentation about your MLM business becomes null and void without answering this question.
Most network marketers skip over this one.
Being vague and evasive about answering this question is the biggest reason for prospects to say, “I have to think it over.”
A 60 second pitch structure about what must be done in network marketing or with its products without being vague to make it work is being professional.
So, let’s do our job and answer the question.
Unfortunately, most network marketers give lame answers to this question. “It’s a sharing and caring business.” “Just talk to people.” Or, “Be a product of the product.”
If we quote our prospect with making $1000 a month, we would describe what they must do as this:
“All you have to do is this: Every day, pass out a sample of our great tasting teas, coffees, sodas, energy drinks, and this brochure for describing how to use it. Then, at the end of three months, you should have enough people using the products that you can earn an extra $1000 a month.”
“All you have to do is this: Between you, and everybody you talk to, and everybody they talk to forever and ever…find about 25 women who want to drink this tea so that they wake up in the morning feeling great with rejuvenated skin over the next 3-months, And then you will start earning an extra $1000 a month.”
“All you have to do is this: Talk to a 10 people a day who want to beautify their looks and fragrance their body with our all-natural products, and in 3-months, you will start earning an extra $1000 a month.”
“All you have to do is this: Talk to 25 families a month about how to lower their mortgage payments, credit cards and car payments and have more money for travel and fun. And at the end of 3-months, you will start earning an extra $1000 a month.”
“All you have to do is this: Talk to 10 network marketers and home-based business owners a day about how they can generate their own leads and earn money for their primary business without interfering with it. And then at the end of 90-days, you will start earning $1000 a month.”
How Do I Close a 60 Second Presentation?
If you have answered the three basic questions – “What kind of business are you in?” – “How much money can I make?” – Exactly what do I have to do to earn the money?” – closing will be a synch.
With a 60 second presentation, there are three ways to close:
- “Well, what do you think?”
- “And that is it.”
- “And the rest is up to you.”
The first phrase is relief-breaker. It’s gives the prospect with a way out and a “ 60 second pitch tell me about yourself “ dodge if they don’t like what is said. They can change the subject without feeling embarrassed or pressure.
Saying the second phrase puts the prospect in charge of his own decision. That is what we should do for every prospect. We are merely the messenger with tools that we use and skills that we have learned to tell the message with accuracy. It is up to the prospect to decide for or against the business or products.
The third phrase leaves the prospect with the idea of “let’s find out what their decision is, and so, the rest is up to you.”
These three closing phrases are how ordinary conversation is made. It is natural to speak in this manner.
Putting It Together
Let’s put together a 60 second presentation with all the parts assembled.
I am talking to Jim and he mentions that he is a little short paying for my daughters wedding gown at a cost of $30,000 at the end of the year. I know in my mind that I have a year to help Jim pay for his daughter’s wedding dress.
And I simply ask this question: “Would you like to do something about it?”
Jim replies, “yes, what are you talking about?”
I say, “I have a part-time business that is making me a full-time income while working my full-time job.”
“Great,” Jim replies, “Tell me about it but I don’t have a lot of time.
My answer? “I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”
“How about now?” – Jim asks.
“If you want to earn $30,000 over the next 12 months to pay for your daughter’s wedding and put some extra money in your pocket without interfering with your present job or social life, do these four things:”
“Number one: “Don’t change. Be yourself. Just continue to recommend and promote the things you like, such as your favorite movies and music. After all, you are an expert at it already… you’ve been doing this your whole life!”
“Number two: We are in the health business, WHICH MEANS people take our healthy, teas, coffees, sodas and energy drinks every day to live longer and have more energy. Everyone wants to live long enough to see their Grandchildren get married.”
“Number three: All you have to do is let people our age know that they can either give up and feel old, or drink our products every day and feel younger again just with better judgment. Talking to people you know or meet in public or through social media, over the next 3 months, you will accumulate enough customers drinking our products every day and people following us into the business that you will be earning $3,000 more a month, that will pay some bills and pay for your daughter’s wedding dress.”
Number four: If you keep going, after a year or so, your income will be more than you earn right now at work, then you will have to decide if you want to keep your job or spend half the time sharing our teas, coffees, sodas and energy drinks with people instead!”
“That is it, that’s the whole explanation. Well, what do you think?”
Think that presentation might not work with the millennial generation (ages 18-37)? How about this one for millennials?
“If you want to earn $30,000 over the next 12 months working just a few hours a week without interfering with your present job or social life, do these four things:..”
Everyone wants to live longer and have more energy and look leaner for maintaining a healthy youthful lifestyle!”
“Number three: All you have to do is let people your age know that they can either give up and feel old, or drink our products every day and continue to look and feel young repeatedly, just with better judgment. Talking to people you know or meet in public or through social media, over the next 3 months, you will accumulate enough customers drinking our products every day and people following us into the business that you will be earning $3,000 more a month, that will pay some bills and buy a dream vacation.”
How about a one-minute presentation for MyLeadSystemPRO (MLSP)?
“If you want to be the top earner in your company and put an extra $6,000 a month in your pocket without interfering with your present (MLM/Network Marketing/Home-Based) business, do these four things:”
“Number one: “Don’t change. Be yourself. Continue to recommend and promote the things you like about network marketing with your team and other fellow MLMers, people you like and business professionals.”
“Number two: We are in the business of attraction marketing, WHICH MEANS we help attract fresh leads daily, get sales and sign-ups weekly and grow businesses monthly by leveraging the power of the internet and using educational software and online training with the top earners and leaders in Network Marketing. Everyone knows online training and software allow them to become the leaders in THEIR industry and build THEIR dreams at the fastest pace possible.”
“Number three: All you have to do is this: Talk to network marketers, home-based and local businesses for the next 12 months on social media about how they can generate their own leads and earn money for their primary business without interfering with it. And then at the end of 12-months, you will start earning $6,000 a month.”
“Number four: Then you can decide to quit your job or continue to recommend and promote attraction marketing.”
“And that is it. The rest is up to you.”
Take your other situations with cosmetics, financial services, skin care, weight loss, and MLSP and see what you can do with them.
A 60 second presentation from the invitation through the presentation to the close will help you to earn more income and sign up more new reps and customers.
