How to Connect with People on Social Media and get them to Focus on Solving Their Problems

The Purpose of Network Marketing is to solve people’s problems. Our problem is how to connect with people on social media and get them to see the need of solving their problems.

If I don’t know how to connect with people on social media… If I fall short of solving people’s problems, then our business is doomed from the start.

But what if people are not thinking about their problems?

Then our job as professional Network Marketers is get them to refocus. Only when their problems are the front of their minds, they will want to solve them.

Start off with these words:

“Staying here at a job until we die, and not changing anything is a plan. But I don’t feel that it is a good plan for me. What about your?”

Or,

“So, do you think marketing on social media with posting links and ads with your company logo and products is working for you?”

Don’t like either one of those? How about this one?

“Just curious, how long will it take you to start making money on Facebook with marketing your company and its products?”

These types of questions get the prospect thinking….” Wow! Apparently, I do have problem.”

Learning how to connect with people on social media by showing them that they have problems and didn’t know it opens the door to the next phase.

It’s Okay to Say No!

Tell them that it is okay to say “no” to our offer.

“I have a 23-minute video presentation for you, if that’s okay? But it is entirely up to you. This video will show you how you get more leads and more new reps on social media in a week than with what you’ve been doing for the last month… then you can decide not to participate, and keep things in your life as they are. Or, you can decide to start now, and begin the countdown to becoming the top earner in your Network Marketing Company.”

Or,

“I will show you our business, but it is entirely up to you. After I show our business, you can decide not to participate, and keep things in your life as they are. Or, you can decide to start now and begin the countdown to firing your boss…Sound okay?”

Facebook rules of engagement and social media marketing rules of engagement like this type of no-pressure talk.

What would our prospects normally say to this offer? “Okay.”

It relaxes the prospect. It also tells them they must make a buying decision when they finish seeing the material or listening to you.

How to connect with people on social media? Show them that they have a problem. Tell them it’s okay to say ‘no.”

Refocusing the Prospect

We want to learn how to connect with people on social media and get them to refocus on their current situation…their problems?

How do we do it?

Easy! Start with these words:

We could just ask them, “What are the two biggest problems that you see about ______________ (Fill in the blank with their problem)?”

“What are the two biggest problems that you see with getting leads on social media?”

“What are the two biggest problems that you see with losing weight?”

“What are the two biggest problems that you see with your job?”

Once they tell us what the problems are, we can say, “Would you like to do something about it?”

And those are great ways to find problems….there are other great ways…

Start out with, “Think about your current situation…

“Think about your current situation. Every month you post ad after ad with your company logo and products. After posting, are you able to pay the car payment, pay off current bills, afford that new home you want… how much do you get for giving up a month of your life hoping for the best and getting nothing no leads, not sales, and no reps in return?”

What will our prospects be thinking? Of course, they want to solve that problem. They want a solution now. We don’t have to sell them a solution with facts, videos, and statistics. All they want is to fix their problem…and we are there with the solution.

“Think about your current situation. Every month you get a paycheck. After paying the mortgage, the car payments, the credit cards, the taxes, the insurance, the food and more… how much do you get for giving up a month of your life working for someone else?”

“Think about your current situation. Every morning you step on the scale and see no results from that routine exercise that you do every day, your belly love-handles have grown more love-handles, you feel sluggish and just don’t have the energy to help your kids with their homework… how much more do have to do before you drop 15-20 lbs. in time for your daughter’s wedding?”

What are some other openings that we can use?

“Think about your current situation. Every morning the alarm rings…”

“Think about your current situation. Every time commuting traffic backs up…”

Then finish the story. Our prospects will see a movie in their minds of this terrible situation which they are in.

When they say, “I see what you mean.”

Then you can ask, “Would you like to do something about it?

We have followed the rules of social engagement on Facebook Twitter, or any other social media site…we were polite. We spoke to them and not at them. We contributed and not just take. We earned connections through collaboration and empowered advocacy.

How to connect with people on social media and not only refocus our prospect about their problem, but we offer solutions. Start with an opening sentence. Let them know it’s okay to say “no.” Ask them a question to refocus them about their problems. “Would you like to do something about it?” – All good rules of engagement social media style.

Those are the ways on how to connect with people on social media and grow your business.
