What is the first thing we do in Network Marketing? Learn skills. Learn the four core skills of Network Marketing, and we come closer to success.

Our job as Network Marketing professionals is to learn skills. The more skills we learn, the more money we can make. Luckily, all the skills of Network Marketing can be reduced to four core skills. And we can learn the four core skills of Network Marketing in 36 words.

How much easier is it than that? It can’t get much easier.

You have to ask yourself: Which works better for you? To be part of a business that your skills limit you to a single income option, or to be part of a business that your skills can earn you unlimited income? We want to be part of a business where we can learn skills to earn us unlimited income.

What are the four core skills of Network Marketing to learn? Building rapport, breaking the ice, closing and presentation… and we must learn them in that order.

Most of us agree that to be a good leader, we must make things short and sweet for the average distributor to understand. And part of that is to make the four core skills of Network Marketing to be short and to the point in as few words as possible.

What are the four core skills of Network Marketing?

  1. Rapport.
  2. Ice-breakers.
  3. The close.
  4. The presentation.

So, let’s look at the four core skills of Network Marketing.

Rapport

The first skill to learn is rapport. You can’t speak to anyone unless they trust you. And they won’t trust you unless you make them feel you are looking at the world through the same set of eyes that they look at the world.

Rapport is not built on how honest you are with people. It is not conceived in people on how great you make them feel. Rapport cannot be established with people based on their best interest.

Rapport is built on common interest. And we can find common interest with other people by agreeing on one fact that is indisputable between both parties.

For example, the prospect and you can agree two paychecks are better than one. You both can agree commuting to work every day takes away time best spent with their children. You both can agree bringing work home from a job cuts into the time people have to spend with your family.

These are indisputable facts both you and the prospect can agree.

But how do we build rapport with these facts? With 4 words. Add the phrase, “I am just curious…”

  • I am just curious; do you like to work 40 to 50 hours a week at your job for a paycheck that you get once a month and barely covers rent?
  • I am just curious, does commuting to work 5 to 6 days a week take away time from your children?
  • I am just curious, does bringing work home on weekends from your job interfere with time that is better spent fishing?

Four words help build rapport… “I am just curious…”

See how easy it is to learn the skill of rapport building?

Ice-Breakers

The four core skills of Network Marketing are not complete without learning how to introduce Network Marketing into any social conversation. This is called breaking the ice.

And we can break the ice with 5 words… ‘I just found out how…”

  • I just found out how we can earn two paychecks a month part-time working from home 12 to 15 hours a week.
  • I just found out how we can commute to work in the time it takes us to walk from one end of our house to the other end and spend all the time we need with our kids.
  • I just found out how we can bring our work home and never have to cut into our time again best spent on weekends at our favorite fishing hole.

So, let’s see how we can build rapport and break the ice in a normal social conversation with people.

  • I am just curious; do you like to work 40 to 50 hours a week at a job for a paycheck that you get once a month and barely covers rent? I just found out how we can earn two paychecks a month part-time working from home 12 to 15 hours a week.
  • I am just curious, does commuting to work 5 to 6 days a week take away time from your children? I just found out how we can commute to work in the time it takes us to walk from one end of our house to the other end and spend all the time we need with our kids.
  • I am just curious, does bringing work home on weekends from your job interfere with time that is better spent fishing? I just found out how we can bring our work home and never have to cut into our time again best spent on weekends at our favorite fishing hole.

It cannot get any easier than that.

The Close

Closing is the skill of getting a YES decision to look at a presentation.

We do the closing BEFORE the presentation. We can all agree the message we want our prospects to see requires a YES decision granting permission from them for us to show them the message. If the prospects don’t agree to see the message, then why waste time giving a presentation?

And the sweet thing is, we can close the prospect in 6 words… “Would it be okay if…”

  • Would it be okay if I showed you how?
  • Would it be okay if you learned more about it?
  • Would it be okay if you looked at a solution I found?

So far, we have learned the four core skills of Network Marketing is to know what to say in as few words as possible.

We are 15 words into learning the four core skills of Network Marketing with 21 words to go.

The Presentation

If the prospect does not know the message we have in our presentation, how can they make an informed decision? They cannot.

And we can start off with introducing our presentation in 21 words… “I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”

So, let’s put our 36 words to practice in a normal conversation.

  • I am just curious; do you like to work 40 to 50 hours a week at a job for a paycheck that you get once a month and barely covers rent? I just found out how we can earn two paychecks a month part-time working from home 12 to 15 hours a week. Would it be okay if I showed you how?
  • I am just curious, does commuting to work 5 to 6 days a week take away time from your children? I just found out how we can commute to work in the time it takes us to walk from one end of our house to the other end and spend all the time we need with our kids. Would it be okay if you learned more about it?
  • I am just curious, does bringing work home on weekends from your job interfere with time that is better spent fishing? I just found out how we can bring our work home and never have to cut into our time again best spent on weekends at our favorite fishing hole. Would it be okay if you looked at a solution I found?

When the prospect says YES to the closing question, then we can add 21 more words, “I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”

Imagine you are speaking to a someone you just met. During the conversation, the person says that he works too many hours at very little pay. You can then say,

YOU: I am just curious; do you like to work 40 to 50 hours a week at a job for a paycheck that you get once a month and barely covers rent? I just found out how we can earn two paychecks a month part-time working from home 12 to 15 hours a week. Would it be okay if I showed you how?

PROSPECT: Sure, I would.

YOU: “I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”

PROSPECT: How about now?

Or a person you met is worried about being away from their kids because of the 1-1/2 hour long commute to work each day.

YOU: I am just curious, does commuting to work 5 to 6 days a week take away time from your children? I just found out how we can commute to work in the time it takes us to walk from one end of our house to the other end and spend all the time we need with our kids. Would it be okay if you learned more about it?

PROSPECT: Sounds great, how?

YOU: “I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”

PROSPECT: I can look at it now.

How about this one for fishing enthusiasts?

YOU: I am just curious, does bringing work home on weekends from your job interfere with time that is better spent fishing? I just found out how we can bring our work home and never have to cut into our time again best spent on weekends at our favorite fishing hole. Would it be okay if you looked at a solution I found?

PROSPECT: Yes.

YOU: “I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”

PROSPECT: I have a minute. So, how about now?

See how we went from talking to a person we just met to create a prospect that is interested in what we have to say? And we did it in 36 words.
