Building rapport with people is simply stating facts that we and other people can agree with.
One fact is okay. Two facts put building rapport on steroids. Introducing these two facts with six magic phrases in the first seven seconds of talking do build relationships.
People respond to people who are like them. We like people who go to the same clubs. We like people who hang out at the same bars. We like people who attend the same church. We like people who vote like us. We like people who are like us and see the world like we see it.

Building trust and rapport works well with groups. Magic phrases “Most people…”, “Everybody knows…” and “Everybody says…” represent groups. People feel safe in numbers. The more people of a group, the safer we feel. These three magic phrases make people feel safe and build instant rapport.
“Well, you know how…,” “There is an old saying…” and “What would you like to know first?” activate building trust and rapport in prospects’ heads. If anybody, anytime, anywhere uses one of these three magic phrases, then it must be true because we use one of these three magic phrases. It is internal programs in our heads that agree with these three magic phrases and make them to be so.
Building trust and rapport is simply using one of the six magic phrases in a sentence that states a fact.
The formula? A Magic phrase + One Fact = Rapport.

Many ways to build rapport exist. Many do not work. Many destroy relationships.
People do not have time these days for chit-chat. They live busy lives and want us to get to the point.
Brain science teaches us that we have 60 seconds with prospects to let them know who we are, if they can trust and believe us, if we are interesting enough to hold their attention, make a final decision about our offers, and give them details about our offers.
