The Ten-Thousand Dollar Question for Network Marketing

Most people who are looking to join your business ask about the products and how they make money and how much it will cost but they don’t ask the ten-thousand dollar question.

There is something they should ask as they weigh up whether our business is something they should do:

  • How many customers do I need to earn $10,000 per month?

That is what we call it; “The ten-thousand-dollar question!”

Of course, if they are not looking at Network Marketing as a career, they might want to know this instead:

  • How many customers do I need to earn an extra $1,000 per month?

Most of us who take a salaried job know the amount of money that our paychecks will be each month. What they in Network Marketing do most have no idea?

We ask about the compensation plan. We inquire about the products and its ingredients. Yet, none of those things will make us a walk away income of $10,000 a month.

The only thing that will make us $10,000 a month is the number of ACTIVE distributors that we have.

The Magic is in the Question

What makes the question work?

— Products are purposely left out. It does not get into a contest between what this product can do versus what the competition product can do. Or, one cannot claim their plan is better than your plan.

— The word “active distributors” means active. Inactive people do not make us money. Active people make us money. The number of active distributors it takes is the number you should include in every presentation.

— The phrase “walk away” ensures that we can walk away for vacations and come back to find our business is still there. It means before we join, we will find out what policies and procedures are in place with the company so we can retire

— The ten-thousand-dollar question has no teeth to it unless we know how much money from retail and wholesale sales do we need to make a “residual income.” Residual income is not based on just recruiting, but on retail and wholesale sales.

— $10,000 is a big enough amount of money to be believable. Talking about millions of dollars does not relate well with prospects. $10,000 is a language that prospects can understand.

If you ask your sponsor the ten-thousand-dollar question and the sponsor cannot answer it, RUN. If they don’t know the answer, they have no clue on how to help you.
