I Am Just Curious . . .
The magic way to ask people personal questions in a way where they just answer naturally.
Using the phrase “I am just curious” is magic when talking to prospects. The prospects automatically open their minds and are willing to listen.
Curiosity is the most basic instinct for our survival. It helps us seek information to keep us from harm. We are so oblivious to our own curiosity that we don’t recognize how curious we are.
Whether listening to music, the news, browsing the internet, reading books and magazines, watching TV, movies and sports, consider how much time we spend being curious. It is basic to our survival. Our demand for information exceeds our demand for sex and food.
Examples for Network Marketing?
— I am just curious. I am looking for people who want two extra paychecks a month. Do you know anyone like that?
— I am just curious. I am looking for people who work 40 to 50 hours a week and want to work part-time 15 to 20 hours a week at the same amount of pay. Do you know anyone like that?
— I am just curious. I am looking for people who’ve eaten too much turkey dinner during Thanksgiving and carry an extra 10 pounds and want to get rid of those 10 pounds before Christmas. Do you know anyone like that?
— I am just curious. I am looking for people with two jobs who would like to get rid of one of those jobs. Do you know anyone like that?
— I am just curious. Hate that you work 40 years of hard labor to end up living on what you cannot afford upon retirement?
— I am just curious. Do you find that our jobs interfere with our week?
— I’m just curious, would it be OK if you found a moisturizer that was more effective at relieving the symptoms of eczema that the leading dermatologist recommended brand?— I’m just curious, would it be OK if you could tighten and tone your body in 45 minutes while watching your favorite television program without any exercise?
What do we say when the prospect says YES?
— Great. Do me a favor? Recommend me to your friend and I will give them a short one-or-two-minute presentation on (THE BENEFIT, retiring in 5-years, two extra paychecks, lose 10 pounds) and then allow your friend to make a decision based upon what’s best for him or her. (This is for those people who refer someone to us).
Or,
— Would you like to do something about it? (For those people who directly benefit from the question).
“I am just curious” is fun to say, and prospects instantly become a lot nicer.
