How to Convince Skeptics that Network Marketing Works

Whether it is Network Marketing online or belly-to-belly contact, we can convince skeptics in 3 minutes that Network Marketing Works. All we need to know is the formula for solving problems.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. There is an old saying everybody has problems, and Inside every problem lies an opportunity. Our job as professional Network Marketers is to solve people’s problems with our Network Marketing products, services and opportunities.

Every business is in the business of solving problems.

Insurance companies solve the problem of what to do when there is a loss of property and life.

Restaurants solve the problem of what to eat when people do not feel like cooking.

Network Marketing works because it has goods, services and opportunities for solving credit card debt, the lack of money to make ends meet, weight problems, the lack of energy, and the list goes on and on. Wherever there is a problem, there is Network Marketing to fix it.

So, how do we convince skeptics that Network Marketing works? We solve people’s problems in 3 minutes using a formula:

  1. Discover what problem a prospect has.
  2. Find out if the prospect wants to fix the problem.
  3. Offer a benefit solution for solving the problem with our opportunity, products and services.
  4. Close the prospect.
  5. Give them a one-minute presentation.

Building your Network Marketing business has one goal: find what problems people have and fix them.

If we are going to fix prospect’s problems, we have to ask the prospect what problems they have for us to fix. And our formula for asking what problems we can solve? “I am just curious, what is the biggest problem you have with…?”

“I am just curious, what is the biggest problem you have with your job?”

“I am just curious, what is the biggest problem you have with Network Marketing?”

“I am just curious, what is the biggest problem you have with losing weight?”

When the prospect tells us the biggest problem they have, the natural question to ask next is:

“Would you like to do something about it?”

We are asking if they want to fix the problem. If they do not want to fix the problem, we cannot help them. We move on.

The prospect that says YES for doing something to fix the problem will expect us to give them a benefit solution… “I just found out how to…” We give them a benefit from our products, services and opportunities that solve the problem.

“Well, you know how inside every problem lies an opportunity? I just found out how to earn two full-time extra paychecks every month working part-time at home.”

Once the prospect agrees to fix the problem, we need to close the prospect. “Would it be okay if…” is a closing statement.

“Would it be okay if I showed how to lose weight without going to the gym and eating funny foods?

“Would it be okay if you looked at a presentation?”

“Would it be okay you learned more about it?”

And it is not complete until we give them a presentation. And we give them a presentation in one-minute on the spot without sending them to a lengthy video or website demonstration.

“I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?”

So, how can we solve the problem of introducing our Network Marketing business into an everyday conversation rejection free? With a 3-minute conversation that follows our formula.

YOU: What is the biggest problem that you have about your job?

PROSPECT: I hate my job. It sucks working all day in a 4 X 4 cubical for a vampire blood-sucking boss.

YOU: Would you like to do something about it?

PROSPECT: Yes!

YOU: Well, you know how inside every problem lies an opportunity? I just found out how to earn two full-time extra paychecks every month working part-time at home. Would it be okay if I showed you how?

PROSPECT: Yes, please do.

YOU: I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?

PROSPECT: A one-minute presentation? Wow! Let’s do it now.

YOU: If you were to have an extra income with a part time business, how much extra income are you looking to earn?

PROSPECT: $4,500 a month.

Introducing an Affiliate Program into the Conversation

How about a conversation about an affiliate program with other Network Marketers? Imagine you are with an affiliate program that helps Network Marketers get leads and prospects…. you have a business that solves a big problem for Network Marketers.

YOU: I am just curious, what is biggest problem that you have with Network Marketing?

PROSPECT: I’m getting nowhere fast with Network Marketing. It sucks having no leads and prospects to talk to.

YOU: Would you like to do something about it?

PROSPECT: of course.

YOU: Well, you know how we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them? I just found out how to we can get 50 leads a day and 3 to 4 prospects a week by following this business on social media that teaches us the right words to say without being intrusive or embarrassed. Would it be okay if you learned more about it?

PROSPECT: Yes.

But first, we want to build some rapport by saying something like this with swipe one:

If the prospect comes back with “I’m getting nowhere with Network Marketing. It sucks having no leads and prospects to talk to,” then go to swipe two.

Swipe Two:

Would you like to do something about it?

If the prospect says, “of course,” then go to swipe three.

Swipe Three:

Well, you know how we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them? I just found out how to we can get 50 leads a day and 3 to 4 prospects a week by following this business on social media that teaches us the right words to say without being intrusive or embarrassed. Would it be okay if you learned more about it?

The PROSPECT says, “Yes.” Go to swipe four.

Swipe Four:

I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?

PROSPECT: “Now, or course.” (At this point you get them on the phone to do a one-minute presentation). Never give a one-minute presentation on messenger or social media. Always give the presentation over the phone.

How about showing skeptic Network Marketers on social media that Network Marketing works by introducing our Network Marketing business opportunity to them.

Swipe One:

Hey FIRST NAME, you are a natural at promoting and recommending things. It shows in your posts. As the old saying goes, what works for some people with your profession may not work well for other people. I am just curious, what is the biggest problem that you have with Network Marketing?

PROSPECT: “I’m getting nowhere with Network Marketing. It sucks having no leads and prospects to talk to”…. then go to swipe two.

Swipe Two:

Would you like to do something about it?

PROSPECT: “of course.” Go to swipe three.

Swipe Three:

Well, you know how we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them? I just found out how this one company is training their new distributors in less than two weeks to successfully get 50 leads a day and 3 to 4 new distributors a week in their business. Would it be okay if you learned more about it?

PROSPECT: “Yes.” Go to swipe four.

Swipe Four:

I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?

PROSPECT: Now, or course.  (At this point you get them on the phone to do a one-minute presentation). And of course, never give a one-minute presentation on social media or messenger. Always give it on the phone.

Let’s do one more from the job sector. Here is one for the skeptic professor that is not convinced that Network Marketing works.

First Swipe:

Hey ______, you are a natural at teaching young minds all the studies for what it takes to get a job and make it through life. It shows in your posts. As the old saying goes, what works for some people with your profession may not work well for other people. I am just curious, what is the biggest problem that you have with your job?

If the prospect states a problem, use the second swipe file.

Second Swipe:

Would you like to do something about it?

If the PROSPECT says: “of course, yes, absolutely,” then do the third swipe.

Third Swipe:

Well, you know how we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them? I just found out how this one company is training their people in less than two weeks to successfully have unlimited income without interfering with what they are currently doing. Would it be okay if you learned more about it?

If the prospect says, “YES,”

Fourth Swipe:

I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute. When could you set aside a whole minute?
