How to Start a Conversation on Facebook

Ever wanted to know how to start a conversation on Facebook about your Network Marketing business? Making first contact starts with a hello.

There are two ways of building a Network Marketing business on Facebook. Farming and hunting.

--- Farming is the process of planting seeds, watering them and waiting for the crops to grow.

--- Hunting is where you grab your coat, head into the woods, and find your next meal.

Farming is marketing, and hunting is prospecting. We will do both. We will lead with marketing and then end with prospecting.

Marketing is when you do something and hope an unnamed prospect reacts or responds favorably. Prospecting is when you reach out to a prospect to start a conversation about Network Marketing.

What Exactly Should We Say?

--- 1. Hello.

--- 2. What do you do?

--- 3. Meanwhile, how long have you been doing your job?

--- 4. You must love it, right?

--- 5. Have you considered doing something else?

How to start a Facebook conversation with a girl and how to start Facebook conversation with a guy begin and end the same. We start with a hello and end with a presentation.

Part 1: We start farming and hunting with a simple HELLO privately on Facebook Messenger. We don’t need to know how to create a group conversation on Facebook at this point.

--- Hey Rob.

--- Hi Rob.

--- Hello Rob.

Starting with HELLO is not all that we need. We need to know how to start a conversation on Facebook with an exciting first sentence.

--- Hey Rob, I almost didn’t reach out to you, but then I decided why not? I just didn’t want you to think it was a spamming message.

--- Hi Rob, well, you know how most people on Facebook spam you with their offers? Well, I almost didn’t reach out to you, because I didn’t want you to think I was spamming you. I am glad I changed my mind.

--- Hello Rob, well, I see you like to make money. Well, I show people how to make more money part-time than they make full-time. We have a lot in common.

Part 2: The next phase on how to start a conversation on Facebook?

--- What do you do?

--- What do you do for a living?

--- What do you do in the real world?

Whatever the prospects’ answers, they will always come back with asking you what do you do for a living? We answer with an ice-breaker that introduces our business into the social conversation.

--- I show people how to retire in 5 years at full pay?

--- I show people how to fire their boss with zero loss of pay.

--- I show people how to double their pension in 9-months.

--- I show people how to make more money part-time than their boss makes-full-time.

--- I show people how to tap into an extra part-time income that matches their healthy, youthful lifestyle.

--- I show people how to give themselves their own pay raise twice a month.

Part 3: Meanwhile...

--- Meanwhile, how long have you been doing your job?

--- Meanwhile, how long have you been at your job?

--- Meanwhile, how long have you been working at your job?

We break our prospect’s thinking about what we do for a living by refocusing them.

Prospects love talking about themselves. They also love what other people do.

We break the communication with a question that starts with MEANWHILE to refocus prospects back on themselves and to get them thinking about what we do.

If prospects find what we do interesting enough in part 2 to affect their lives, they will ask us for more information.

If prospects don’t find what we do interesting enough in part 2 to affect their lives, the conversation changes from prospecting to just making another friend.

Knowing how to start a conversation on Facebook by refocusing them makes it easier for the part 4.

Part 4: we need to find out if the prospect enjoys their job.

--- You must love your job?

--- You must work great hours?

--- Your job must be exciting?

This part is important. 80% of people with jobs hate and are not engaged with their jobs.

If they answer in a way that indicates they hate their job, it makes for an easy transition to part 5.

Part 5: We need know how to start a conversation on Facebook by refocusing prospects on an alternative way of making money.

--- Have you considered doing anything different?

--- Are you married to your job, or are would you like to do something different?

--- Are you looking to do something different, or you okay with staying where you are?

If the prospect says YES, we now have permission to give a presentation.

So what kind of presentation should we give? Long or short?

Short works better than long. With a short presentation, we don’t have to send prospects to a website or video and hope they will take time out of their busy lives to see it.

Why not give a short presentation right there on the spot? That way, prospects hear our message and know exactly what we are all about. Prospects will appreciate and like us more.

How do we start our short presentation?

--- I’ve got a good story. Will only take two-minutes. Might make you money, might not. Want to hear it?

Putting Together the Conversation Pieces

How to start a conversation on Facebook is knowing how all the pieces are put together.

YOU: Hey Rob, I almost didn’t reach out to you, but then I decided why not? I just didn’t want you to think it was a spamming message. What do you do?

ROB: Glad you reached out. I am a teacher. What do you do?

YOU: I show people how to walk away from their jobs with zero loss of pay. Meanwhile, that is awesome about you teaching kids, how long have you been doing it?

ROB: 12 years.

YOU: That must be so exciting. You must love it, right?

ROB: It pays the bills.

YOU: Well, geez, that doesn’t sound like much fun. Are you looking to do something different, or you okay with staying where you are?

ROB: Different is great. Tell me more about what you do.

YOU: I got a good story. Takes about two minutes. It might make you a lot of money, might not. Want to hear it?

ROB: Sure.

YOU: Would it be okay if you could stop teaching with zero loss of pay and never had to go to work again?

ROB: Yea.

YOU: So how much money would you need a month, just to cover the basic bills, so that you would never have to show up at work again?

ROB: $6,000 a month.

YOU: Well, you know how most people drink coffees, teas, shakes and energy drinks every day?

ROB: Yes.

YOU: Well, there is a great company called Mr. Wonderful that makes cool versions of healthy coffees, teas, shakes and an all-natural, super organic energy drink people love.

--- Now, if you never wanted to go to work again, all you would have to do is between you, and everybody you know, and everybody they talk to, forever and ever and ever, eventually accumulate 150 people drinking our healthy products every day on a regular basis, and then you would earn an extra $6,000 a month

--- Now you don’t know how to get 150 people to drink our products every day, but you can learn. You learned to drive a car, you learned how to use your smartphone, and you certainly can learn a system to get 150 people to drink our healthy products every day.

--- So, what is going to be easier for you? To continue working a job that you have no passion for, or to learn a system with getting 150 people to drink our healthy products every day and have a career with zero loss of pay after walking away from teaching instead?

ROB: I’d like more information.
