The Ten-Thousand-Dollar Question for Network Marketing

The Ten-Thousand-Dollar Question for Network Marketing

The Ten-Thousand-Dollar Question

When we buy a business, we seem never to ask the ten-thousand-dollar question. We ask about the compensation plan. We ask about the products.

But we never ask the real question.

Michael Dlouhy’s “Success In 10 Steps!” has taught us to ask the ten-thousand-dollar question:

--- How many active distributors do I need in my business to generate a walk away residual income of $10,000 per month?

For my business, the number is 250.

For your business it might be more, or it might be less. But the ten-thousand-dollar question is the main question we need to ask our sponsors.

Most of us who take a salaried job know the amount of money that our paychecks will be each month. In Network Marketing, we rarely know because we rarely ask.

We ask about the compensation plan. We inquire about the products and its ingredients. Yet, none of those things will make us a walk away income of $10,000 a month.

The only thing that will make us $10,000 a month is the number of ACTIVE distributors that we have.

The Magic is in the Question

What makes the question work?

--- Products are purposely left out. It does not get into a contest between what this product can do versus what the competition product can do. Or, one cannot claim their plan is better than your plan.

--- The word “active distributors” means active. Inactive people do not make us money. Active people make us money. The number of active distributors it takes is the number you should include in every presentation.

--- The phrase “walk away” ensures that we can walk away for vacations and come back to find our business is still there. It means before we join, we will find out what policies and procedures are in place with the company so we can retire

--- The ten-thousand-dollar question has no teeth to it unless we know how much money from retail and wholesale sales do we need to make a “residual income.” Residual income is not based on just recruiting, but on retail and wholesale sales.

--- $10,000 is a big enough amount of money to be believable. Talking about millions of dollars does not relate well with prospects. $10,000 is a language that prospects can understand.

If you ask your sponsor the ten-thousand-dollar question and the sponsor cannot answer it, RUN. If they don’t know the answer, they have no clue on how to help you.
